Coming off the release of Uncharted: The Lost Legacy and the preparation for the upcoming The Last of Us: Part II, developer Naughty Dog has revealed that a few change-ups in the company leadership will be occurring heading into the studio’s future.

Naughty Dog president Evan Wells announced through the company’s blog that Neil Druckmann, the longtime designer behind several of the Uncharted titles and creative director on The Last of Us and Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, has been promoted to the position of Vice President at Naughty Dog in an expanded role with the company on a larger level.

Alongside Druckmann’s promotion, Wells also confirmed that while Druckmann will be taking on a larger role within the company, he will still be leading creative direction on the studio’s current project, The Last of Us: Part II, while Uncharted: The Lost Legacy director Kurt Margenau and designer Anthony Newman have been announced as the game’s new co-directors. Naughty Dog also announced that Emilia Schatz and Richard Cambier will be heading the design department as Lead Designers.

With Druckmann shifting roles to a larger focus on Naughty Dog and the introduction of some new faces to the upcoming The Last of Us: Part II, it will definitely be interesting to see the direction that the studio is heading in with the highly-anticipated The Last of Us sequel and what it might have in store for the future.
