Publisher Devolver Digital got its conference going at this years E3 and gave us an explosive, heavy-on-action gameplay trailer for My Friend Pedro. It’s a side-scrolling platformer from DeadToast Entertainment that uses violent and aerobic tactics to avoid being shot and make it through the level.

The scenario for My Friend Pedro is rather surreal. The player battles against enemies at the command of a sentient banana. Along the way players wielding two weapons can use dual aiming to take out several enemies at once. Slow motion is incorporated making it more dramatic but also easier to plan ahead while among the action.

Objects around the world can also be used to a players advantage, such as kicking an object at an enemy to stun them and then finishing them off with a blow to face with a shotgun. My Friend Pedro is based on the original 2014 browser-based flash title, My Friend Pedro: Arena.

We saw a tease of the title back in 2017 through our Screenshot Saturday Round-Up which featured a GIF of the protagonist riding a skateboard and launching at the enemy. Devolver Digital announced back in May that they’d be holding another press conference for this year E3. Just before E3 the publisher teased Metal Wolf Chaos XD and then last night announced that very title through a teaser trailer.

My Friend Pedro is due to launch on PC and Nintendo Switch sometime in early 2019.
