Developer Artifex Mundi, who brought us hidden object games like Enigmatis and the Nightmares from the Deep series, has released a touching adventure game that looks at children’s wonderful ability to overcome sorrow through imagination, which is available on Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Mac now.

In My Brother Rabbit, the player experiences an illness that falls upon a family’s beloved daughter in which they do everything to find the best treatment to help her, including their son, who takes it upon himself to comfort his sister as she struggles with being in a scary hospital. With the help of his unconditional love for his sister, a wild imagination and his stuffed toy rabbit buddy by his side, he shapes a fascinating narrative world in which to comfort and soothe her.

The score in My Brother Rabbit is created by Arkadiusz Reikowski, composer on familiar titles like Layers of Fear and Seven: The Days Long Gone and Emi Evans, vocalist on NieR: Automata and Dark Souls, which looks like it goes together really well with the beautiful hand-painted scenery. Given there are no spoken words at all in My Brother Rabbit, you can expect a lot of situations to be felt rather than heard.

Łukasz Sałata, lead artist at Artifex Mundi has said:

“As strange as the pretend world is in My Brother Rabbit, children’s innate ability to perceive the world in amazing ways is very real. Our own children helped us create the game, and we are ecstatic to finally share their creativity with players.”

My Brother Rabbit is available for $14.99 on Nintendo Switch, PC, Mac, GOG, Humble Store, PS4, and Xbox One now.
