Muv-Luv Alternative: Strike Frontier’s Operation Lucifer Event Explores an Obscure Part of the Saga

DMM released this week’s event in its Muv-Luv mobile game Muv-Luv Alternative: Strike Frontier focused on Operation Lucifer.

The event is a rerun from 2017, and it’s the second part of the one we had last week. It’s actually very relevant story-wise because it explores a part of the story not featured in the visual novels, even if it’s often referenced.

Specifically, we get to see the fate of Takayuki Narumi in the alternative universe. Takayuki is the protagonist of Kimi Ga Nozumu Eien, a visual novel set in the same timeline as Muv-Luv Extra. Its female heroines feature very prominently across the Muv-Luv Alternative universe, but Takayuki is limited to little more than a footnote, with Strike Frontier finally showing what happened to him and to his best friend Shinji Taira.

Of course, like all events, this includes plenty of goodies. Just by playing the (rather easy) missions you can drop or unlock a SSR Operation Lucifer version of Haruka Suzumiya, and a Machine Gun-armed Type94 Shiranui. The weekly gacha comes with another Type94 Shiranui (armed with shield), alongside Isumi Valkyrie commander Michiru Isumi and (who incidentally was the main character of âge’s first game Kimi ga Ita Kisetsu), and an Operation Lucifer version of Mitsuki Hayase in her UN cadet fortified suit.

You can take a look at all the goodies below.

As a bonus, you can also watch two videos inspired by this event and the one from last week, telling the same story in a more dynamic way using âge’s own visual novel engine AGES.

In other Muv-Luv news, you can check out our recent review of the main trilogy while you wait for the upcoming PS Vita release. You can also read our interview with creator Koki Yoshimune, in which he shared a lot of interesting information, including a few tidbits on Strike Frontier.

Muv-Luv Alternative: Strike Frontier is currently available for iOS, Android, and on browsers for PC.
