During today’s edition of the Mortal Kombat 11 Kombat Kast, the team at NetherRealm Studios revealed the game latest fighter is that of Kotal Kahn.
Kotal Kahn was blatantly teased by NetherRealm last week in a post on Twitter and we’ve previously seen the character appear in other trailers for MK11, so his official confirmation here isn’t much of a surprise. For the uninitiated, Kotal Kahn is one of the newer characters in the Mortal Kombat series, first making his appearance in the previous entry in the series Mortal Kombat X.
As for how Kotal Kahn plays in Mortal Kombat 11, NetherRealm’s team describes him as more of a brawler. With his large stature and devastating move set, Kotal Kahn can deal out damage in heavy doses. He also comes equipped with his sword which he can use to slice through his opponents.
NetherRealm released a new gameplay trailer to show off Kotal Kahn in action, but the footage that we see shows off Kotal Kahn getting his butt whooped by Jacqui Briggs more than it shows off his own power. That said, this is also the first time we have seen Jacqui in action as well since she was announced to be joining MK11’s roster. Jacqui actually wins the fight in the trailer we see and we’re able to get a glimpse of one of her brutal fatalities.
