Even before Mortal Kombat 11’s launch, players have been theorizing which characters would be DLC fighters. Since Mortal Kombat 9, the series has been known to feature crazy guest DLC characters like Kratos, Jason Voorhees, Predator, Alien, and Leatherface, so with every new NeatherRealm fighting game speculation regarding DLC is always rampant. NeatherRealm Studios Creative Director and Mortal Kombat creator Ed Boon recently revealed that we can expect a DLC reveal soon.

Ed Boon confirmed that we would be learning about Mortal Kombat 11’s DLC soon through Twitter. While he didn’t provide a specific date and even gave himself plausible deniability by prefacing with the phrase “if all goes well,” the current plan seems to be revealing the contents of the Kombat Pack next week.

As that tweet mentions, Shang Tsung has already been confirmed as the first DLC character for Mortal Kombat 11. The Kombat Pack, which players can buy for $39.99 in addition to the base game, teases that six DLC characters are coming. Hopefully, this means we will be learning about five brand new fighters next week.

While many players a surely speculating on who is coming to the game, many are looking to a previous leak that supposedly revealed the DLC roster. Unfortunately, this leak is likely not true as Bruce Campbell denied his involvement with Mortal Kombat 11 despite the fact that the leak listed Ash from Evil Dead as a DLC character.

Whenever NeatherRealm Studios and Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment decide to reveal the contents of the Kombat Pack, DualShockers will let you know. Mortal Kombat 11 is currently available for PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch, and was actually the first game to be the top-selling title on all three major consoles since 2007. If you want to pick up a version of Mortal Kombat 11 that includes both the base game and the Kombat Pack, Mortal Kombat 11: Premium Edition is available on Amazon.
