Mortal Kombat 11 — Bruce Campbell Shoots Down Appearance of Evil Dead’s Ash Williams as DLC Fighter

In the past couple of weeks since Mortal Kombat 11 released, fans have started theorizing and guessing who could later be coming to the game as an additional DLC fighter. After a potential leak occurred in late April, a new rumor started spreading that Ash Williams, the character from the film and TV franchise Evil Dead, would be coming to MK11 down the line. Unfortunately, no matter how great Ash’s arrival would’ve been in the fighting series, that rumor has now been dashed.

As recently tweeted out from Bruce Campbell himself, the actor who has long played Ash for over thirty years, the character will not be making any sort of appearance as DLC in Mortal Kombat 11. Campbell shared the information alongside a pretty hilarious image that saw him performing a fatality on the rumor. “Consider this my finishing move against a certain internet rumor,” said Campbell in the post.

While Ash’s addition to MK11 may have seemed far-fetched at first, there was a precedent for it considering how many classic film characters have come to the Mortal Kombat series in recent year. In Mortal Kombat X, for example, Alien, Predator, Jason Vorhees, and Leatherface were all added after launch as new fighters. Ash Williams would have made perfect sense to join that slate of characters on MK11’s roster, but alas, it seems it wasn’t meant to be.

While Ash might not be coming to Mortal Kombat 11, we’ll likely learn more about the game’s additional DLC fighters here in the coming weeks and months. In the meantime, if you’d like to play an actual game featuring Bruce Campbell, then allow me to suggest Spider-Man 2 for the PlayStation 2.
