Monster Hunter Rise 2.0 Adds New Elder Dragons, Increases Rank Cap – 3.0 Roadmap Confirmed

Today, Capcom hosted their first major Monster Hunter Rise live event since the game launched at the end of March.

The event was set to reveal the Chameleos, Apex Rathalos and “a plethora of new monsters to hunt” and it’s safe to say that it didn’t disappoint.

We got a glimpse at even more Elder Dragons for hunters to tackle, as well as a host of other changes to the game.

Which new monsters are heading to Rise?

Alongside the previously confirmed Apex Rathalos and the Monster Hunter 2 Elder Dragon Chameleos – Capcom confirmed a range of new monsters.

The Apex Rathalos isn’t the only Apex monster joining the game, with am Apex Diablos also set to wreak havoc.

Alongside that, there are a further pair of Elder Dragons joining the game, in terms of Teostra, the giant fiery lion-like monster and the Kushala Daora.

What Other Changes Are Coming to Monster Hunter Rise 2.0?

Capcom shared a detailed list of features – you can find them below:

  • Hunter Rank Cap increase
  • New Monsters
  • New Monsters in Village, Hub and Rampage quests.
  • New quests, Arena quests and requests.
  • New weapon trees, armor, petalaces and items.
  • New skills and Rampage skills.
  • Armor upgrade level cap increase.
  • New decorations and layered armor.
  • Palico/Palamute layered armor can be forged and level cap increased to 50.
  • Default level for hired Palico and Palamute raised.

What’s Next for Monster Hunter Rise?

The good news for fans is that Capcom is giving Rise the same treatment it has given previous entries in the series, including Monster Hunter World.

At the end of today’s digital event, Capcom shared its roadmap for update 3.0.

This new update is scheduled to hit at the end of May and will add “several new monsters” and a “new ending” set after the finale of Rise.

It’s unclear as of yet which monsters will be heading our way in 3.0 but the Bazelguese has been highly rumored!
