It looks like more event and future content details from Genshin Impact Ver 1.5 have leaked, this time revealing the Mimi Tomo event focusing on the Unusual Hilichurl, and the Windtrace event seemingly inspired from Dead by Daylight. Here’s what we know.

What’s the Mimi Tomo event in Genshin Impact?

According to Genshin Impact data miner and leaker Project Celestia, Mimi Tomo is an event where the Traveler investigates the Unusual Hilichurl.

Added in Ver 1.1 of the game, the Unusual Hilichurl spawns on several locations on the map of Teyvat, and is a meta joke based on Da Wei, the self insert character of one of miHoYo’s cofounders and CEO.

The Mimi Tomo event will feature the Traveler and Hilichurl language specialist Ella Musk trying to communicate with the monsters to locate the Unusual Hilichurl. “Mimi Tomo” is also Hilichurl language.

The Mimi Tomo event in Genshin Impact will help players localize the Unusual Hilichurl easily, as his spawn location is randomized between different spots.

Windtrace event in Genshin Impact Explained

Meanwhile, Windtrace is a new minigame players will be able to enjoy. Windtrace in the lore is a Mondstadt game, where two sides fight, the Rebels, and a Hunter.

The players acting as Rebels will need to constantly move and run away from the player acting as Hunter. We will earn Windtrace Coins from the minigame, and exchange them for rewards.

Is the Mimi Tomo and Windtrace 1.5 leak real?

First off, as usual, you should keep in mind this is data mined content, wasn’t officially announced yet, and is subject to change.

Next, it’s important to note that in the past, some of the information from one or more Chinese data miners and leakers, which turned out correct, also mentioned a Dead by Daylight like minigame would be coming to Genshin Impact. DBD is an asymmetrical multiplayer games, where a group of players is pitted against a lone player with a different role. This definitely fits the description of the Windtrace event.

Lastly, keep in mind there is no guarantee the Mimi Tomo and the Windtrace events will actually be released in 1.5, and could be coming in future updates instead.

Genshin Impact is available on PC, PS4, PS5, and mobile. While Ver 1.5 wasn’t officially announced yet, if miHoYo does not change the usual release update schedule, Ver 1.5 should launch on April 28, 2021.
