After much anticipation, Metro Exodus released just over a month ago and so far, it seems like signs have been pointing to the game being a success not only for developer 4A Games, but for the series as a whole and giving it the wider recognition that it has deserved. Though the game has been out for several weeks now, one of the first major updates for Metro Exodus has been released to give players some new features alongside numerous bug fixes and improvements.

Publisher Deep Silver has announced that a new update, titled the “Ranger Update,” has gone live for Metro Exodus across consoles and PC. The update itself brings with it a number of additional features and improvements to the game, along with bug fixes.

One of the biggest new features implemented in the Ranger Update is the addition of New Game+, allowing players of Metro Exodus to restart their campaign with all of the weapons and attachments that they unlocked from their previous playthrough, along with several new features that players can utilize to increase the level of challenge.

In addition to New Game+, the Ranger Update also includes other features such as a new Developer Commentary mode that allows players to find tapes throughout the world that offers insights and behind-the-scenes commentary from the development team at 4A Games on the making of the game. The update also features some refined control options through a new Controller Preset, including improved control sensitivity and dead zone adjustments.

Outside of general improvements and bug fixes across all systems, the Ranger Update for Metro Exodus has also included some platform-specific additions and features. For Xbox One owners, mouse-and-keyboard support has been added to the title, while PS4 owners can utilize Controller Light support on the DualShock 4, while imprived RTX and DLSS support has been provided on PC.

Metro Exodus is available now on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. For more on the game, you can read our full review and check out the full breakdown of patch notes from the Ranger Update here.
