If you’re having a hard time being quarantined, then fear not, as you aren’t alone – Solid Snake is struggling right there with you.

Jordan Vogt-Roberts, the director of the forthcoming Metal Gear Solid movie, today released a fun new video on Twitter to encourage everyone around the globe to stay indoors. The video is in the style of the famed Codec sequences from the original Metal Gear Solid and sees appearances from Solid Snake, Colonel Campbell, and Otacon. Best of all, this short features the voice work of David Hayter, Paul Eiding, and Christopher Randolph each returning to bring to life their own respective characters once again.

The brief story that the video centers on shows Snake struggling to stay inside during the mandated quarantine. Itching to go on some sort of mission, Snake rings up both Colonel Campbell and Otacon and asks each to hang out before being turned down. All in all, it’s a fun, silly video that is full of references to the larger MGS saga and should at the very least elicit a chuckle or two from you.

While the video is largely meant to be a PSA encouraging fans to stay quarantined, however, there is one worthwhile piece of information tucked away at the end. Shared by Snake himself, it is said that there aren’t any major updates on the upcoming Metal Gear Solid movie to be made right now. However, Vogt-Roberts is planning to release more concept art in the future “in the hopes that it brings a little bit of light to the Metal Gear community in these dark days.” This is something that Vogt-Roberts has done in the past, so it’s not a shock to see him doing it again here soon.

As for the current status of the MGS film, when we last heard about the project, Vogt-Roberts had said he had just finished a new revision of the script and seemed quite pleased with it. Additionally, he said that he would be meeting with an actor for the movie soon, but no updates have since been provided on how that meeting may have gone. Previously, both Vogt-Roberts and actor Oscar Isaac have expressed interest in the latter playing Solid Snake in the movie adaptation, but whether that will end up coming to fruition remains to be seen.

Despite there being nothing new to announce about the Metal Gear Solid movie right now, at least the upcoming concept art that will be released will help tide us over. If these images are anything like some of the ones we’ve seen in the past, they should be a sight to behold.
