Masahiro Sakurai confirmed the six DLC fighters in the upcoming Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Fighters Pass Vol. 2 will be the last ones.

As you already know, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Director Masahiro Sakurai has a bi-weekly column feature in Famitsu Magazine. He shares many of his thoughts through this column, and it’s rarely actually about Smash. Sakurai, for example, recently praised Kojima Productions’ Death Stranding and Vanillaware’s 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim through this column. He also spoke about Fire Emblem characters in Smash Ultimate.

In this week’s issue of Famitsu Magazine (officially titled the March 5, 2020 issue), Masahiro Sakurai brought up the worldwide hype surrounding the Fighters Pass DLC. However, Sakurai mentioned the upcoming six DLC fighters were all already decided. And like he already did multiple times in the past, he again stressed out that he’s not the one picking the characters, it’s Nintendo.

Sakurai added that these six characters will be the last ones to be joining the game. Like with the first Fighters Pass, each fighter will come with a set of BGMs and a new stage. Once the sixth DLC fighter is out, Sakurai’s work on Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will finally be over.

Rumors and speculation regarding DLC characters in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate happen all the time. Many are waiting for Sora from Kingdom Hearts, others for Doom Guy. Some are still waiting for picks like Geno and Waluigi too. Personally speaking, I’m still waiting for Fire Emblem Genealogy of the Holy War‘s Seliph, Adol from the Ys series and Laala from TakaraTomy’s PriPara and Prety Series to be added. A character from a popular Doujin studio would be nice too.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will also be featured at Evo 2020.
