During Sega Fes 2019’s first day, Sega revealed its partnership with the International Olympic Committee to develop and publish multiple official Tokyo 2020 Olympic games.
The first game is plainly titled Tokyo 2020 Olympic The Official Video Game and will be releasing worldwide on PS4 and Nintendo Switch in Summer 2019. It’s a realistic Olympic video game which seems to include every single sport and event from the most popular Track&Field events to BMX, Tennis, and Soccer.
Next, a new Mario & Sonic was announced, titled Mario & Sonic At Tokyo Olympics. This will be released exclusively on Nintendo Switch worldwide on Winter 2019. An arcade version of the game will be released in Japan as well in 2020, and a Sonic focused mobile game, Sonic At the Olympic Games, will be released there as well.
An official site regrouping all the games was opened. It’s only in Japanese for now but the English version of the website should be available soon.
Sega Fes 2019 will be ongoing all weekend. Stay tuned for our stories on the other announcements, including Mega Drive Mini and New Sakura Wars.
A trailer introducing all Sega Olympics games with a young boy asking his grandfather if he remembers the previous Tokyo Olympics is included below.
