Legend of Mana Remaster, Mana Series announcement live stream – time and schedule

The live stream will be happening on June 27, 2021, at 5 AM EST. Click here for a time conversion to other time zones, and here’s a countdown.

Square Enix specified the live stream will feature new announcements from Koichi Ishii, original game designer and creator of the Mana series, and Masaru Oyamada, the current producer of the series.

In the past, The Japanese company also stated the overwhelmingly positive sales of the Trials of Mana remake, (Seiken Densetsu 3 remake), were a very good sign for the future of the series.

The Mana series started as a Final Fantasy spinoff on Game Boy in 1991. Final Fantasy pixel artist Kazuko Shibuya most notably drew all of the first game’s graphics by herself.

Is Dawn of Mana getting a remake?

Over on Japanese Twitter, “聖剣伝説4” (Seiken Densetsu 4) has been trending, with many fans sharing their stories about the fan-nicknamed “dark history” part of the franchise. Seiken Densetsu 4, known as Dawn of Mana in English, is considerably different than past games in the series. And considerably worse depending on who you’d ask.

Dawn of Mana keeps the usual action RPG gameplay of the series, but the stats and levels of the protagonist are reset after each chapter. Moreover, the protagonist has a special vine arm that allows him to grab nearly any object and enemy in the game. Defeating enemies using that special arm grants you medals, upgrading the protagonist’s stats and level. The game is very unique and has a bittersweet place in the hearts’ fans.

Dawn of Mana is also the sole originally numbered Seiken Densetsu game that has yet to receive a remaster or remake. The game first launched on PS2 on December 21, 2006.

Legend of Mana Remaster was featured for a few seconds at the Square Enix E3 showcase, revealing the brand new anime opening. The game will launch on June 24 on PS4, Switch, and Steam.
