It looks like PlatinumGames’ next announcement is incoming.

The Platinum 4 site has been updated to now display the date “04.01” (Wednesday, April 1) beneath the final star to be lit…please don’t let it be an April Fool’s joke.

In all seriousness, next week will likely bring the final announcement to round out the Platinum 4, and based on what Hideki Kamiya told DualShockers a few weeks ago at PAX East, it’s going to be “a doozy.”

What’s been announced through the Platinum 4 so far has already laid out an ambitious future for the studio. It started with the successful launch of The Wonderful 101 Remastered’s Kickstarter campaign, which will release in May as PlatinumGames’ first self-published effort. Then came the announcement of a new studio in PlatinumGames Tokyo — established to push Platinum’s efforts in developing live-service games — and most recenlty, “Project G.G.“, which has been branded as the third act of Kamiya’s superhero trilogy following Viewtiful Joe and The Wonderful 101.

There hasn’t been much of a hint as to what the fourth and final announcement might be. News on Bayonetta 3 has been dormant for a long time, but revealing something else entirely is just as likely from where things stand right now.

Fortunately, it looks like we don’t have long before we do get to see what else Platinum has in store.
