This last month has been a busy one for Spike Chunsoft and Bandai Namco Entertainment’s crossover 3D fighter Jump Force. Since its release date was revealed in late October, a ton of new characters have been announced from Shonen Jump franchises like Fist of the North Star, Dragon Ball, City Hunter, and Rurouni Kenshin. The game even made an appearance at X018 to unveil SSGSS Goku and Vegeta as well as Golden Freiza.

The aforementioned Rurouni Kenshin characters were quietly revealed in an issue of Weekly Shonen Jump before being vibrantly announced with some new details and screenshots in the latest issue of V-Jump. While Rurouni Kenshin characters Himura Kenshin and Makoto Shishio have yeet to appear in a gameplay trailer, a bevy of new Jump Force screenshots were released and give western audiences a small taste of what to expect.

As one would expect, these screenshots are mostly just money shots where Kenshin and Shishio take center stage and showcase their abilities. For those of you who don’t know about Ruroni Kenshin, let me fill you in on who these two new characters actually are.

Himura Kenshin is a wondering samurai who has vowed to never kill again and only help people as penance for his less than desirable actions as an assassin for the government. Meanwhile, Makoto Shishio is Himura’s greatest enemy who is entirely ruthless. His body is actually covered in bandages due to some very old burn wounds. Jump Force seems to have captured both these characters pretty well in these screenshots, though it will be interesting to see how things pan out in a gameplay trailer.

In addition to the Rurouni Kenshin characters, a few of these new screenshots also highlight Jump Force’s character customization. The game clearly has a wide suite of character elements and moves from every franchise for players to pull from in order to create a unique custom avatar to use in online play.

Of course, DualShockers will let you know when these Rurouni Kenshin characters and character customization are featured more prominently in an official Jump Force trailer. In the meantime, you can check out these new screenshots below alongside the game’s box art, which has also been revealed. Jump Force will debut for PC, PS4, and Xbox One on February 15, 2019.
