Is The Day Before Coming To Console? PS5 and Xbox Series X Explored

Guides, Originals, PC, The Day Before

If there’s one genre in gaming that has skyrocketed in popularity over the past few years, it’s survival games.

The likes of Rust, ARK, DayZ and more recently, Valheim, have all risen to prominence in this recent boom.

The games are known for their tough difficulty levels and open nature and it’s this plus more that has helped build an endearing fanbase.

Now, coming soon is a game that looks like it could be the next big survival hit – The Day Before. But is the game coming to console? Let’s take a look.

What is The Day Before?

The Day Before is an open-world survival title, developed by FNTASTIC.

On the game’s official website, it’s described as:

“Welcome to The Day Before, an open-world MMO survival set in a deadly, post-pandemic America overrun by flesh-hungry infected and survivors killing each other for food, weapons, and cars. You wake up alone in a world you no longer remember, setting out to find answers and the resources to survive.”

When is it releasing?

Unfortunately for excited players, The Day Before doesn’t have an official release date. Thankfully, however, it shouldn’t be too far away.

Barring any delays, the game should be releasing in Q2, 2021. That means players who are eager to get their hands The Day Before, will realistically be waiting no later than June.

Is The Day Before Coming To Console?

As things stand, the game is only scheduled for release on PC, through Steam.

However, that may not be the only option. In an interview with gamingbolt, the developers said “We will not be able to port the game to your NES, but we are considering the next-gen consoles. Wait for a special announcement.”

Reading between the lines, this looks like a console release, at least on PS5 and Xbox Series S/X, at some point in the not-so-distant future.
