The first game from Hypixel Studios–a company formed from the team behind the largest Minecraft server network on the planet–was announced in December 2018 as Hytale, a spiritual successor to the game. Since then, multiple updates, a first look trailer, and FAQs have been consistently pumped out. The announcement trailer has since crossed 30 million views on YouTube in less than a month.

To put that into perspective, the Red Dead Redemption 2 announcement trailer only has 17 million views in over 2 years. This is the game that holds the record for the largest opening weekend in entertainment history with a whopping $725 million in revenue on the two days. It’s safe to say that Hytale is looking to be pretty ambitious, and it makes sense. Minecraft is one of the best selling video games of all time, with the original Hypixel server making millions of dollars in revenue. The game is funded partly by League of Legends developer Riot Games, which is impressive.

We’ll have to see if this game is the next big thing – there are already countless content creators who gained popularity from Minecraft showing interest in the project, which could mean a huge boost in sales. The team has not yet decided if the game will be free to play or paid, with more updates to come in the future. You can sign-up for admission to an upcoming beta on the official website of the game – which does not yet have a release date.

DualShockers is planning on keeping you updated with all things surrounding Hytale, so stay tuned for more information in the months leading up to the game’s release. You can view the announcement trailer below:
