Over on Twitter, Hideo Kojima shared a new photo taken with the exclusive Photo Mode of the PC version of Death Stranding, teasing that some good news related to that could be announced next week.

Valve’s Half-Life: Alyx, launching on March 23, is also doing a collaboration campaign with the PC version of Death Stranding, as you can see with the vehicle on the photo.

Kojima tweeted this both on his English and Japanese accounts, so I’ve included both above. Kojima explains how this is a photo taken in-game with the Photo Mode, after some retouches and a layout.

Personally speaking, I always find it funny how developers nowadays greatly insist on the term “Photo Mode”. Taking screenshots and actual modes for that have always been a thing in many games in the past. So this current trend of adding that feature to your game, calling it a Photo Mode and treating it like some kind of super novelty is pretty interesting. In a sense, it’s just like Virtual YouTubers. Anyway.

Death Stranding by Kojima Productions is already available on PS4. The PC version, published by 505 Games, will launch on June 2 via both Steam and Epic Game Store. It’s unclear for now if the PC version’s Photo Mode will get added to the PlayStation 4 version via an update at some point or not.
