Back in 2016, Hanger 13 released Mafia III on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. Since then, the studio has been working on an unannounced AAA title. Today, the 2K subsidiary revealed that a new Hanger 13 studio has been opened in Brighton, UK to work on that game and all of their future projects.

This is the third Hanger 13 studio, as it joins development teams in Novato, California and the Czech Republic. According to parent company 2K, this new Brighton studio is led by Nick Baynes, a veteran game developer who is known in the UK for his work at Black Rock Studios on titles like Split/Second. Nick Baynes had the following to say about taking on this new role:

“The UK has some of the most talented game developers in the world and I couldn’t be more excited to work with Andy again to build a world class team in Brighton and help forge the future of Hangar 13. If you’re an experienced game developer looking to join a passionate AAA studio, we want to hear from you.”

Meanwhile, Hangar 13 Global Studio Head Haden Blackman had the following to say about expanding into the UK:

“We’re incredibly excited to welcome Nick and the Brighton team into our growing Hangar 13 family. The new office allows us to tap into the rich game development talent pool throughout the United Kingdom and Europe and will lead to better, more diverse games that resonate with the widest possible audience.”

You can currently pick up Mafia III, the studio’s most recent game, on Amazon. DualShockers will be sure to let you know when Hanger 13 and 2K officially announce this AAA title.
