Hades will certainly scoop up a few “game of the year” awards in 2020. Supergiant Games’ Greek mythology-based roguelike has been both a critical and commercial juggernaut since it launched on PC and Nintendo Switch earlier this year. Fans who like to play across both platforms have had one thing missing, however.

When the game was announced for the Switch during a Nintendo Indie World Showcase, Supergiant Games confirmed the title would have cross-saves between Nintendo’s hybrid console and PC. Unfortunately however, just a few days before launch, the developers confirmed that they had “hit some setbacks”, so decided to postpone the feature, rather than the game’s full launch.

Now, just a few months after launch, Supergiant has confirmed that the update to bring cross-saves to Hades has been launched and players can take advantage of the feature.

The service is incredibly simple to use, with a “cross-save” option now on the main menu of the Switch version of the game. After selecting that, players will be prompted to add their Steam or Epic Games account and the functionality will be activated.

Hades, which officially released on September 17, smashed a massive milestone just a few days after launch. The game was confirmed to have hit 1 million units sold on only September 20. Although 700,000 of those were when the game was in early access, for an indie title to achieve 300,000 sales in three days and break a million total sales is nothing short of fantastic.

We scored Hades the highest score possible, a whopping 10/10, saying: “I’ve practically never found a dull moment within it. In every facet, Hades is an excellent video game, and one of the best roguelikes ever made.”  You can read our full review right now.
