Arc System Works’ Guilty Gear fighting game series is one of the studio’s premiere franchises, but it has not yet made an appearance on Nintendo Switch. That will be changing later this year though, as the developer announced that it will be releasing Guilty Gear XX: Accent Core Plus R on the system.

This will actually be an re-release of Guilty Gear XX: Accent Core, which first hit Japanese arcades in 2006 before coming to various other platforms in the following years. That being said, content from that release has been complied and tuned up in order to make this the best way to play the game.

In total, Guilty Gear XX: Accent Core Plus R will include 25 different characters, and they all have been slightly reworked to fight competitive play better. There will also be a Gallery mode with over 100 illustrations, and the standard Survival, Mission, Versus, and Training modes.

As for multiplayer, Guilty Gear XX: Accent Core Plus R on Nintendo Switch will let players fight both online and offline. When online, one can choose between Ranked Matches, which track one’s wins, and regular Player Matches that don’t.

While Arc System Works knows the game will be rated T, the price is still unknown. Guilty Gear XX: Accent Core Plus R will hit the Nintendo Switch eShop sometime in 2018.
