God of War Fan Puts 500 Hours Into Crafting Jaw-Dropping Valkyrie Cosplay

Once again, we dip into the talent pool that serves the God of War community.

While we wait with bated breath on whether we will actually get our hands on the next instalment of God of War, tentatively named Ragnarok, this year or not, is a question better left up to the gods themselves.

As it stands, Sony Santa Monica’s next big game is slated to release in 2021 but due to the pandemic and, so far, not seeing anything other than a short teaser clip last year, it seems unlikely at this point. I’d love to be proven wrong though!

What we can rely on though is the abundance of creative talent that pours out of the God of War community. From fan art to cosplay, we are spoiled on a daily basis by their sheer skills.

For those who have played 2018’s God of War, and if you haven’t then why not?, you will be all too familiar with those dreaded Valkyries who can be slippier suckers to defeat. You will also remember, no doubt, Valkyrie Kara, one of the nine Valkyries you can fight as an optional boss in the game.

In tribute to this powerful and strategic Valkyrie, cosplayer Rahega over on Reddit has given us all an amazing look at their Kara outfit that’s probably the best God of War Valkyrie cosplay I’ve ever seen.

Rahega states that the cosplay took them over 500 hours to put together which is very much believable by just looking at the intricacy of it. Not only that, but they also handpainted and crafted the wings themself which accumulates to over 500 pieces for it alone.

With the wings spread out, it looks incredibly impressive and also somewhat intimating especially when the Valkyries are so aggressive in God of War. Other than the wings, the headpiece looks amazing and so well put together.

If you have no idea what all the fuss is about, God of War is available exclusively on PlayStation right now.
