Genshin Impact 1.5 Resin – What Are The Weekly Boss Domain Changes?

Genshin Impact revealed a new Q&A with its developers, revealing some of the elements they’ve been working on following fan feedback – in particular, another slight change to the Resin system is coming soon, possibly with Ver 1.5.

What’s the Resin change for Weekly Bosses?

In the Q&A, miHoYo explained that the Original Resin required to redeem rewards for weekly bosses will soon be lowered. Right now, you need 60 Resin to get the rewards from Stormterror, Childe, or the wolf boss fight. It wasn’t officially confirmed yet how much it’ll be lowered.

It’s important to note that this only concerns weekly bosses. World bosses like the cubes and flowers will still require 40 Resin.

Strangely enough, miHoYo has yet to publish the Q&A in Japanese, nor in English. Usually the Japanese version of the Q&A is up only a few hours after the Chinese one. With that said, Japanese fans have partly translated the Q&A from Chinese to Japanese, hence why I could share those details.

Genshin Impact 1.5 – Why miHoYo is changing the Resin system again?

The Resin system is one of the biggest complaints shared by English players of the Genshin Impact community. Ever since the game launched on September 28, 2020. Just go take a look at Genshintwt or Reddit.

In the past, miHoYo has already listened and increased the max Original Resin limit. The max limit for Condensed Resin was also upped from 3 to 5 in Ver 1.4. As such, while some players claim miHoYo only cares about the Chinese playerbase, I think that’s simply not true seeing these changes.

Personally speaking though, I’m still waiting for a way to reroll Artifacts substats. Forget the gacha drop rates or the Resin. This is by far the most annoying aspect of the game to me. The Resin system isn’t as bad as most Stamina systems in Sociage.

  • INAZUMA – Everything we know so far

And I haven’t rolled for a new character since Ganyu as there’s objectively no need to get more characters after a certain point. Besides your love for them as an otaku. But anyways, a lower Resin cost for the weekly bosses is still a welcomed change.

Genshin Impact is available on PS4, PC, and mobile. A PS5 version is coming soon. A Switch version was also announced. However, we haven’t heard about it since.

Ver 1.5 will be launching on April 27, and we should get our Sneak Peek livestream this week. Stay tuned on DualShockers as we’ll be translating the official Genshin 1.5 livestream Japanese summary.
