Coming off its recent crossovers with franchises and properties like Marvel and The Walking Dead, at this point it seems like there isn’t a franchise or property that is off the table for Epic Games and Fortnite. While recently we saw The Predator track down players in the game earlier this month, it seems like players are in for some epic battles with a familiar group of iconic action heroes in the future.
The official Fortnite Twitter account shared a radio transmission message from Agent Jonesy, seemingly a brief teaser for the next event or crossover headed to the massively popular multiplayer game. Specifically, the teaser makes plenty of mentions that imply the next franchise crossover for the game will be GI Joe, including several new skins inspired by the animated series/action figure line.
Notably, the teaser makes it pretty clear that the first new skin will likely be Snake Eyes, the iconic ninja from GI Joe, with clues mentioning a “ninja master” and a reference to the series’ classic line “knowing is half the battle.” Alongside Snake Eyes, it’s also likely that we can expect to see skins inspired by other characters from the franchise for players to purchase and use in-game.

Especially in the past few months, Fortnite has been bringing a substantial number of characters from well-known franchises into the game as part of its ongoing storyline for Chapter 2 – Season 5. This season alone has brought in familiar faces from The Mandalorian and The Walking Dead alongside iconic gaming characters like God of War‘s Kratos and Halo‘s Master Chief. Given the recent teaser, it’s likely that we’ll probably see the GI Joe crew make their way into the battlefield very soon in Fortnite.
