After hosting a Christopher Nolan watch party this summer, the Fortnite team appears to have another collaboration on the cards with the famed director. Twitter user FilmUpdates recently shared a video showing off a Fortnite easter egg for Nolan’s film Tenet. Adding fuel to the speculative fire, Geoff Keighley, the Ludens Fan himself, retweeted the video with eyebrow-raising emojis. Of course, this is far from confirmation that something is coming. That said, it certainly seems to be heading that way. Check out the Twitter exchange below.

Frankly, this seems like a bit of a weird crossover for Fortnite. Before COVID-19 hit, I was working as a school teacher. Unsurprisingly, Fortnite was incredibly popular among my middle school students. However, I can’t remember any of them talking about their love for Inception or The Prestige. Nolan’s film just doesn’t seem like the kind of movie most of Fortnite’s target audience.

That said, the previous event seems to have done well for the team at Epic. So, what do I know? I guess young teens really like gripping drama that really plays with your mind and my students were the outlier.

Either way, none of this is actually confirmed. It’s highly possible the easter egg is the only Tenet-related content Fortnite fans will get. That said, Keighley’s Tweet seems to suggest Hideo Kojima’s best friend might have something to announce in the coming weeks. Stay tuned to see if anything comes of it.

Fortnite is available now on pretty much everything. If you somehow haven’t tried it, maybe now is the time to do so. Tenet will finally release in theaters on September 3 in the US.
