Fortnite is Spicing Up Competitive Play with Fortnite World Cup Creative

Fortnite is currently one of the most popular games on the planet, and as such it has a prominent esports scene. Epic Games is set to hold the Fortnite World Cup Finals this July, and will actually encouraging the creation aspect of the game during the competition with Fortnite World Cup Creative.

While competitive Fortnite typically focuses on ending up the battle royale mode, Fortnite World Cup Creative will be split into five different events inspired by community creators. While Epic Games didn’t go into detail about the individual events at this time, they did explain how players can qualify and the prize pool at play during the finals between July 26 and July 28.

Fortnite World Cup Creative qualifiers will run from April 29 until June 7 and will actually be quite simple to partake in. A new Creative Trial will be posted each week between those dates, and players are encouraged to upload the best clips of what they created to YouTube with a hashtag specific to that week’s trial. All the videos will then be vetted by Epic before the best are judged by the creator behind said trail. For the first one, submissions will ultimately be judged by Cizzorz, who has over 4.3 million subscribers on YouTube.

The players who win each week will qualify for the finals and ultimately head to New York to compete in July. During the Fortnite World Cup Creative event itself, fifteen players will compete to get a portion of a $3,000,000 prize pool. If you are an avid creator in Fortnite, Epic Games is finally giving you a chance to showcase your skills in the competitive scene, and that’s pretty cool.
