Epic Games has announced that a Fortnite Creative will be arriving to the game this month through their official blog post. We’d already seen a leaked video from YouTuber Lachlan who published his video early and then took it down. However, a Reddit mirror allowed people to see the gameplay of mode in action.

Fourteen popular content creators have published videos showing Fortnite Creative in more detail. You’ll find a list of these videos over on the official blog post. Here’s a rough run-down on what you can expect to see.

Fortnite Creative will be separate from Save the World and Battle Royale game modes having its own space on the mode selection screen. There will also be severs that will allow up to sixteen players to join, spawning first into a hub world with rifts leading to worlds. Some worlds are featured and others are players worlds. Each world has up to four levels within them, acting as saved islands.

The world players drop into appears smaller than the Battle Royale map, and allows players to no-clip, letting them fly about the world. A mobile phone allows players to manipulate objects by picking them up, copying, pasting, and erasing them. While there are a large number of possibilities for players to create, there is a memory cap that allows players to keep the experience smooth for players.

An inventory allows prefabs, devices, weapons, consumables, and chests to be spawned around the world, and when equipped the objects will be assigned to the selection bar in the bottom right of the screen. From there, players can place them in the world by changing their rotation, copy, paste, snap to grid and more. The snap to grid options allow 16×16, 8×8, 4×4, and 2×2 grids.

Scoreboards and timers can be placed for mini-game fun, and various game modes are available: Free-for-all, deathmatch, and Free-play. Players are also able to set time limits, spawn locations, starting health, shields, infinite health, and more. When game modes are activated, any damage caused will not be carried over when returning to creative mode.

Personally, I think this sounds all similar to Garry’s Mod and something that could bring a lot of fun for the creative minds within the game. You can find the video below showing the gameplay in action. Epic Games has announced that season seven is due to go live this week, and the developer has also permanently extended the Support-A-Creator program.

Fortnite Creative will be available for everyone on December 13, but those who purchase a Battle Pass will gain early access from December 6. Fortnite is available as an early access title for PC, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android.
