D’Avekki Studios released a Lovecraftian-inspired FMV game titled The Infectious Madness of Doctor Dekker earlier this year on PC, and it currently holds a very positive rating on Steam. Today, Wales Interactive, who have published previous FMV games on consoles like The Bunker and Late Shift, revealed that they have partnered with the aforementioned developer to bring The Infectious Madness of Doctor Dekker to PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch next spring.

For those of you who aren’t aware, players control a psychiatrist who is trying to solve a murder case while also taking care of the messed up patients of Doctor Dekker, who recently died. Interestingly, the game lets players input their own questions and phrases into the game in order to get different responses from patients. This mechanic has been modified in the console release to instead let players choose from a suggested questions list to streamline things, though players will still be able to type their own questions if they attach a keyboard.

The murderer is chosen randomly at the start of each playthrough to avoid spoilers and keep the experience fresh. There are also multiple different stories with multiple different endings for players to experience, so The Infectious Madness of Doctor Dekker seems to be fairly deep for an FMV game.

David Banner, Co-Founder and Managing Director at Wales Interactive, had the following to say about publishing the game:

““We couldn’t be happier to bring D’Avekki’s sinister murder mystery to PS4, Xbox One and Switch. Our previous interactive movie titles, Late Shift and The Bunker, have been really well received and our growing community of FMV fans have expressed an appetite for us to publish more of these titles. TIMODD is another great example of a modern FMV game and we’re delighted to collaborate with D’Avekki Studios to bring this title to a wider audience.”
