With a compelling story and a unique visual style set in the American wilderness, Firewatch from developer Campo Santo quickly made a name for itself as one of the most unique indie games to arrive in the past few years, and now Nintendo Switch owners will get to experience the narrative-driven experience for themselves in just a few weeks.

Campo Santo has announced that Firewatch will release on December 17, 2018 for Nintendo Switch after previously confirming that the game would arrive for the system earlier this year.

According to the developer, the game will be available on the Nintendo Switch eShop in the Americas, Europe, Japan, and Australia, ensuring that a large number of players around the world will get the chance to experience the game while on-the-go.

Outside of the Nintendo Switch release for Firewatch, 2018 has been a busy year for Campo Santo as the studio is not only working on its next game, titled In the Valley of Gods, but was also acquired by Valve earlier this year to develop new titles that (presumably) will feature their trademark narrative-driven experience.

Firewatch is available now on PS4, Xbox One, PC, Mac, and Linux, and will be heading to the Nintendo Switch next month.
