As far as FIFA 21 promos go in FUT, Headliners is smack in the middle of the pack. It’s a fun one because the cards are live, meaning they upgrade if a player gets a performance-based card or their club gets four wins in a row. However, it’s always less exciting because it falls right around two of my favorite promos in Team of the Year and Future Stars. That said, today EA released the first team into packs, and there are certainly a few bangers included. Check it out.

The first thing to note about this batch of Headliners is that EA has given cards to four players who already had Player of the Month SBCs. That has to sting a bit if you used assets to complete any of those cards. Of course, Bruno Fernandes, Oyarzabal, Joao Felix, and Jonathan Bamba all deserve their new cards. It just sucks to know you’re stuck with a static POTM card when you could have a Headliner that upgrades.

Outside of those players, the three big cards in this batch are Ben Yedder, Wilfried Zaha, and Fabinho. Yedder is maybe slightly less OP than he was in FIFA 20, but it’s still a sick card. Likewise, Zaha is a solid option up top and he already has two in-forms. If he can stay on form, he might be in line for a few more upgrades. Fabinho is less sexy, but Liverpool should get those four wins relatively soon.

Rounding out the squad are Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Martin Hinteregger, Jordan Amavi, and Lukas Hradecky. There’s also a Matheus Cunha available in objectives. It only requires four wins if you play your cards right, so you can finish it in an afternoon.

FIFA 21 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X. This batch of Headliners is in packs for one week. So, check back next Friday for the second team.
