Fallout 76’s Day One Patch is Larger Than the Actual Game

Bethesda, Fallout 76, News, PC, PS4, Xbox One

It is not news to many people now that most games will have a day one patch to clean up some last minute bugs and what not. Usually, they might be a few gigs or so. However, the day one patch for the new Bethesda multiplayer title Fallout 76 is going to be a hefty one.

As noted by USGamer, the day one patch for Fallout 76 is a whopping 54 GBSince the size of the actual game is about 45 GB, the day one patch is going to be nine GB bigger than the game itself.  Patches and updates have been getting larger and larger as time goes by, but this is the largest day one patch I can remember.

Since Bethesda has had different scheduled beta times for the game, one would assume that the hefty patch would be to fix many of the discovered bugs, but probably not all of them because we all know that it wouldn’t be a Bethesda game without at least some jank to it. The patch might also feature some other support options that Bethesda had noted on Reddit a few days ago.

Fallout 76 is set to release next week on November 14 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC
