The announcement of Hitman 3 including both Hitman 1 and 2 was a great one. However, that has come with some limitations and confusion, especially if you are buying the game on PC.
Because the Hitman trilogy has had a different publisher for each release, this has brought on some interesting problems when trying to include every game in one package. Hitman 3 will be launching as an Epic Games Store exclusive. If players pre-order or purchase the game within the first 10 days of launch, they will get an Acess Pass for Hitman GOTY which will allow you to import all the missions and locations to Hitman 3. If you already own the first game on EGS, you will already earn the Acess Pass. For Hitman 2, players will have to purchase an Access Pass no matter if you own the game or not. Then, players will have to link their Steam account to an IO account and then transfer their saves over.
Now that all of that is out of the way, Tim Sweeney, CEO of Epic Games, has responded to the criticisms and states that his team is in talks with IO about the situation.
He states: “Sorry, the team is looking into this with IO. It’s never Epic’s intent to create a situation where someone who owns a game on Steam would have to buy it again on Epic Games Store to get the full benefits of it.”

Hopefully, many of the problems listed above can get remedied. Nothing can kill hype more than a massive wave of consumer confusion on price. Many mainstream players will purchase the title and expect to get those two other titles without any added limitations or costs.
Hitman 3 will be available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, Stadia, and PC.
