Today, Thailand-based developer Pixel Perfex released a new trailer showing off a variety of sea monsters you will encounter in its upcoming game: Earth Atlantis.

For those that don’t know: Earth Atlantis takes place in an alternate world where “The Great Climate Shift” that struck at the end of the 21st century has left 96 percent of the earth’s surface underwater. In wake of this, human civilization has fallen, while machines have adapted and adopted the shape and form of marine animals. You are a hunter who hunts these machines.

The game is essentially a side-scrolling shooter where you hunt down a variety of sea monsters and explore a post-apocalyptic underwater world. There is a slab of ships, weapons, and abilities to unlock along your journey and along your path to a legendary hunter.

As you will notice in the new trailer, perhaps the game’s most unique feature is its “Old Sketching” art style, which is inspired by the the essence of 14th century’s ocean exploration when the sea was considered a very treacherous  place full of unknowns and monsters.

Earth Atlantis is currently expected to hit sometime later this year. It is in development for PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. Below, you can check out the new, aforementioned trailer:
