Welcome back to our ongoing Game of the Year 2020 talks!

If you didn’t previously hear about our new format in regards to Game of the Year when we launched the series earlier in 2020, essentially, we’re having our conversations about the year’s most prominent releases over the course of the entire year rather than waiting until December to talk about every game that released. As such, we’ve switched to a quarterly format to break down all of 2020’s most noteworthy titles.

For this second quarter, our discussions lastest so long that we decided to break out the conversations in two different videos. If you’ve been following us over on our YouTube channel (please subscribe if you haven’t already!) you may have seen that we having been rolling out these GOTY videos over the past two days. And, well, if you haven’t seen them yet, now maybe you have via this article.

As for what’s on tap in our deliberations this time around, our staff touched on games like Final Fantasy VII RemakeResident Evil 3ManeaterXenoblade Chronicles: Definitive EditionPredator: Hunting Grounds, and many, many more. Oh, and we, of course, have a rather lengthy talk about The Last of Us Part II to wrap things up.

You can find both videos sequentially attached right here:

Much like I mentioned back when we launched this new series, it’s important to note that we’re not determining our actual Game of the Year “winners” during these conversations. Our finalized awards that we hand out each and every year will still be determined come December. However, these talks allow us to at least know which games are rising above the rest and lets us see where our staff currently stands as a whole. And more than anything, we hope that they are fun conversations for you to tune in and listen to as well.

We’ve had a ton of fun doing this format for Game of the Year so far in 2020, and we hope that it’s been something enjoyable for you as well. If you have any feedback, we’re definitely open to hearing about it from you, so be sure to leave a comment down below.

Otherwise, we’ll see you back here in a few months when we have our conversation about all of the biggest releases from 2020’s third quarter, which will include titles that released between July and September. See you then!
