Nintendo took to its Twitter with the announcement that two very recent installments in Square Enix’s massively popular Dragon Quest franchise will be receiving price cuts this week. Dragon Quest Builders 2 and Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age – Definitive Edition will both see price drops on the Nintendo Switch versions of the games to potentially bolster the growth of the franchise’s popularity even further in the West. Both titles will be seeing drops from $59.99 down to $49.99 just in time for the holidays.

Dragon Quest XI is currently the highest-selling installment in the long-running RPG franchise and continues to grow since last year’s release of the Definitive Edition on the Nintendo Switch as well as the subsequent releases on PS4 and Xbox One. Dragon Quest Builders 2 has also proved to be successful in its own right as a spin-off series selling over a million units as of last year. Both have been extremely well received and continue to increase the overall popularity of this nearly thirty-five-year-old franchise.

If you managed to miss out on either Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age – Definitive Edition or Dragon Quest Builders 2, these price drops are more than enough of an excuse to check them out on the Switch. Especially in the case of Dragon Quest XI, this particular iteration of the game is the best version to pick up if you haven’t taken the journey through the vast land of Erdrea yet. Dragon Quest Builders 2 has already received its price drop while Dragon Quest XI S is still listed at the original price at $59.99.

It would also be important to note that if you have other consoles such as the PS4 or Xbox One, Dragon Quest XI S retails for even less and is also available via Game Pass. No matter your platform of choice, you have options of how and where to experience these titles.
