One good thing nowadays is how you definitely don’t need to go to an event yourself to cover news from it, as trailers and info from there are officially republished over the net and Twitter. This rule stays true with the latest Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot trailer from Paris Games Week 2019.

This is a particularly nice trailer as it features the post-Cell Saga opening song We Gotta Power, sung by Hironobu Kageyama, a legend and the most popular anime song singer with Ichirou Mizuki. The trailer retraces all the coolest moments from the Buu Saga and immediately makes you remember how awesome it is. Bandai Namco’s promotional team did everything right and this is definitely the trailer that got me hyped the most about CyberConnect 2’s RPG adaptation of Dragon Ball.

The Buu arc is definitely one of my favorites, as it manages to mix in perfectly the seriousness, coolness, comedy, and goofiness that is the essence of Dragon Ball. Anyway, the trailer is included below.

I know the stories about how Shueisha or Toei Animation forced Toriyama to keep the manga going after Frieza turned out to be baseless or extrapolated, but seeing how much money Dragon Ball printed and still prints to this day, he definitely had some kind of pressure. However, anyone can see Toriyama had tons of fun making the Buu Saga. It’s easy to say so now that history happened, but assuming he really wanted to end the manga before that point, it was the right decision to keep going.

One of the previous gameplay videos featured Gohan Vs Cell. We also got another gameplay video showing Majin Vegeta in the Buu Saga. And here’s the latest screenshots and game system details.

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot will be launching on January 17 on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. You can preorder it on Amazon.
