Bandai Namco launched today the new DLC for Dragon Ball FighterZ adding Kid Goku from Dragon Ball GT. Together with the DLC’s launch, Bandai Namco published a brand new trailer for “Goku Day”.

The trailer retraces most of Goku’s life, starting with his first fight against Vegeta, till the end of Dragon Ball Super. All the iconic Goku moments are there, recreated with the gorgeous cutscenes from Dragon Ball FighterZ and some well-choreographed gameplay. All of it with Dragon Ball GT‘s opening song playing.

After multiple weeks of teasing, Kid Goku GT  was launched today on May 9, because it’s Goku Day. In Japanese, five can be pronounced as “go” and nine can be pronounced as “ku”, so May 9 is Goku Day. It’s not an exaggeration to say there are more pop culture-dedicated days based on puns like that than the numbers of days there are in the year. Along with Goku day, one of the most popular ones is Hatsune Miku day, on March 9.

The previous trailer with Goku GT was more traditional, and details on his moves were previously shared as well.

Dragon Ball FighterZ is available on PC, Xbox One, PS4, and Switch. Kid Goku can be obtained by buying the Fighter’s Pack 11 DLC or through the Season Pass.
