After months of silence regarding the Switch port of DOOM Eternal, Bethesda and id Software has today finally announced when this year’s highly-regarded shooter will be heading to the Nintendo platform.

Revealed alongside a new trailer, DOOM Eternal will finally be landing on Switch one week from tomorrow on December 8. As it was previously detailed, Bethesda will not be releasing the game in a physical iteration on Switch, meaning that the only way to pick it up on the platform is via digital download through the eShop.

While those who are looking to pick up DOOM Eternal on Switch are surely happy to now have a release date, the more interesting aspect of this launch will come with how it performs on the device. The Switch obviously has less horsepower compared to other platforms that Eternal has appeared upon, meaning that some corners were surely cut in order to get it to run. Whether or not those cut corners will end up drastically impacting the final product though remains to be seen.

We’ll potentially have more thoughts for you on the Switch edition of DOOM Eternal in the coming days or weeks, so stay tuned.
