DOOM Eternal First DLC Screenshots Revealed

Having previously released in March of this year, DOOM Eternal isn’t done giving us our fill demon-killing just yet. Currently, id Software is working on some new campaign DLC for the title, and as of today, we’ve received our first taste of what this add-on content will have in store.

Over on the official DOOM Twitter account today, two screenshots from the forthcoming DLC for Eternal were unveiled. While you might expect any screenshots from DOOM to feature the Doom Slayer ripping and tearing demons in half, these images instead show off two of the environments that this add-on will apparently take us to.

The first image looks to be set in an environment in space and also features imagery associated with the Khan Maykr. The second pic then is set on some sort of facility in the middle of the ocean with boats being seen scattered below.

It’s also worth specifically calling attention to the fact that both of these images are from the first DLC add-on for DOOM Eternal. Two pieces of DLC are said to be in the works, with both planned to arrive no more than one year after the release date for Eternal.

Strangely, one of the only definitive things that we know about DOOM Eternal’s DLC right now is that it won’t feature the work of the main game’s composer, Mick Gordon. After what has seemingly been a falling out between Gordon and id Software management, DOOM Eternal executive producer Marty Stratton has said that the composer will not be doing any work on the campaign DLC. The fractured relationship comes about as a result of what looks to be an internal dispute over the release of the game’s official soundtrack. A replacement composer hasn’t been named as of now for the DOOM Eternal DLC, and Gordon himself seems unlikely to work with the studio moving forward.

For now, we still don’t have a specific launch window for either DLC pack for DOOM Eternal, but we should likely hear more somewhat soon. The game is currently out on PS4, Xbox One, and PC, with a Switch iteration still scheduled to launch at some point this year.
