Announced at the Summer of Gaming, DDLC is coming back with new content in a version titled Doki Doki Literature Club Plus, coming to PC and consoles – here’s how to pre order the game, and the contents of each physical limited edition.
DDLC is a social phenomenon in how it introduced the typically Japanese genre of psychological horror visual novels, also called Denpa Novels, to a broad new audience. Thanks to the original game being free on PC, and actually being in English, with no language barrier.
DDLC has a huge following both in and outside Japan (the Famitsu tweet announcing DDLC Plus is over 30,000 RTs), and looks like this fandom will get even bigger now.
Doki Doki Literature Club Plus is, despite its looks, a horror game. Do not play the game if you do not like horror. This is not a joke nor a meme, and do not take the game’s warnings lightly.

How to pre order Doki Doki Literature Club Plus – Digital
DDLC Plus is coming to PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch on June 30, 2021.
On PC, you can get the game on Steam, Epic Games Store, or the Serenity Forge storefront. The game is priced at $14.99, but is currently at $13.49 for preorders.
On Nintendo Switch, the game has its own page on the Eshop where you can preorder. No price is listed yet, but it should also be $14.99.
For the PS4 ad PS5 versions, there are no PSN pages for DDLC Plus yet. We’ll update this post as soon as possible when the pages are up.
For the Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S versions, a Microsoft Store page was opened. No price is listed there either but again it should o up for $14.99.
Physical copies of DDLC Plus – Pre order guide
Doki Doki Literature Club + has a physical edition for Nintendo Switch, PS4, and PS5 only. These are all limited editions. All Limited Editions come with a $29.99 price tag and can only be pre ordered on the Serenity Forge shop. As of now, all editions are sold out and the page is unstable due to heavy traffic, however you should keep an eye on the Serenity Forge Twitter as more stock might be added very soon.
Physical copies will start being shipped in July 2021.

How will DDLC work on consoles?
Note that this section contains minor spoilers. Both the English and Japanese fanbase of DDLC are wondering on Twitter how DDLC Plus will be working on consoles. Because the original PC game has something similar to Metal Gear Solid‘s Psycho Mantis boss fight and its Memory Card saves reading.
I’ve personally seen many Japanese fans on Twitter wondering how the files manipulation will be handled in console versions, and it’s one of the things they’re looking forward to. “PC以外”, has in “platforms other than PC” has been funnily trending on Japanese Twitter too following the DDLC Plus‘ announcement.
