Divinity: Original Sin 2 became a critical and commercial success last year thanks to its compelling RPG gameplay and co-op experience, and now those on PC will be getting an enticing upgrade to the upcoming Definitive Edition this summer, free of charge.

Developer Larian Studios confirmed on the Facebook page (via Game Informer) for Divinity: Original Sin 2 that owners of the game will be getting the upcoming Definitive Edition as a free upgrade when it arrives in August, which will bring the PC version to parity with the game’s release on consoles.

While the specifics of what exactly the Definitive Edition will contain have yet to be revealed by Larian Studios, the developer did state that “thousands of tweaks and changes are coming in the Definitive Edition,” which means we’ll likely get a number of updates to the game since it first debuted last year, though no word has come out yet if will include DLC or other added content.

Divinity: Original Sin 2 is available now on PC, and the upcoming Definitive Edition will be available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC in August. Xbox One owners, however, will have the chance to check out the game ahead of time through its inclusion in the Game Preview Program starting this week.
