We’ve known for a while now that Dicey Dungeons developer Terry Cavanagh had sites set on a Nintendo Switch and mobile ports. However, the Nintendo Switch port was made official at today’s Indie World Showcase. The game was featured in a showcase-ending sizzle reel that was jam-packed with cool announcements. If you missed the show, give it a watch below.

Dicey Dungeons mixes roguelike design with deck-building in the form of semi-randomized dice rolls. It’s incredibly inventive and serves as one of the better deck-builders available on digital platforms. The game comes from the mind of Terry Cavanagh, who’s behind other inventive titles like Super Hexagon and VVVVVV. While many of his previous games were very well-received, Dicey Dungeons might his best work yet.

I have tried to mostly steer clear of playing the game on PC. It just feels like the perfect game to have with you on the go or when sitting at home with a loved one who really likes watching baking shows that you couldn’t be less interested in. However, I’ve watched it played quite a bit and am ecstatic for this upcoming Switch release. For my money, that’s going to be the way to play Dicey Dungeons. A game I can pick up and put down whenever and, more importantly, wherever I want. Give it a look, if you haven’t already.

Dicey Dungeons comes to Nintendo Switch later this year. The game is available now on PC if you just can’t wait. Make sure to check out all of DualShockers’ other coverage around today’s Indie World Showcase. There are a ton of games to dig into.
