After initially being revealed last year at E3 2018, Capcom has today let loose Devil May Cry 5, the first numbered entry in the iconic series in 11 years.
To coincide with launch, Capcom has released a new commercial for Devil May Cry 5, but it might not be what you’re initially expecting. Rather than showing off extensive gameplay footage from DMC5, this trailer instead is entirely live-action. It features a handful of everyday people doing normal tasks before they each bust out the iconic weapons of Dante, Nero, and V. It’s a pretty goofy video, but also is just fun, which is pretty in-line with Devil May Cry as a whole.
This commercial isn’t the only thing Capcom has been doing in the live-action realm with Devil May Cry 5, either. The team has gone the extra mile to include live-action versions of some of the game’s cutscenes within the DMC5 package for those who buy the Special Edition of the game. These renditions are meant to be purposefully bad but they come off as hilarious, especially in the action-packed sequences. As someone who has already seen some of these videos while playing the game, I can promise you they’re fantastic. You can see a bit of what I’m talking about here:
