It isn’t a Destiny release without people stumbling into parts of the game that Bungie thought they had locked off. Following the successful launch of Destiny 2: Forsaken, it looks like the community is prodding every last corner of maps trying to find where hidden areas may lead. And it led the community to Callum’s Grave.

Like all things stemming from Reddit, the discovery is largely a community effort. Redditor paxlyn17 noticed that the grave was in the Corrupted Strike after accidentally dying on the strike and going AFK. After that, the RaidSecrets subreddit got to work decoding how to actually explore this area and to more thoroughly understand its place in the story and to reach the Malfeasance weapon.

The culmination of this exercise is the below-video from Redditor MercuryRains where they actually get to the location and get to explore the area:

According to the post, anyone looking to explore this can navigate to this area of the map (at least, before Bungie finds a way to lock people out of it).

For everyone confused about the relevance of Callum’s Grave, or why there is a charred body print on the rock, it boils down to Destiny 2 lore.

Callum had his Ghost in his left hand. It was silent. With his right, he had stabbed her through the optics with a sickly dagger—a tool carved from the jagged spikes fired from a weapon I shall not name.

The Ghost was dead, and Callum just laughed. I think because he knew what came next.

He and I had words. Told me I’d never kill ’em all. Then he dropped the shell and went for his shooter.

I lit my fire and painted him on the wall without another word.

Without a doubt that is what we are seeing in this landscape, with a ghost crumbled on the ground and the body burned into the rock. However, more importantly, this seems like it is an area connected to the missing (or at least, currently unattainable) Destiny 2: Forsaken exotic hand cannon Malfeasance.

Destiny 2: Forsaken released on September 4 for Xbox One, PS4, and PC. You can read our review-in-progress here, and you can grab the expansion from Amazon if you would like to find the area yourself.
