CyberConnect2 and Aniplex revealed a new trailer for the Demon Slayer fighting game coming to PS4, PS5, PC via Steam, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X – Kimetsu no Yaiba Hinokami Keppuutan – revealing new playable character Sakonji Urokodaki and hinting at several more characters to come – we have the details and trailer below.

Demon Slayer Kimetsu no Yaiba game – new trailer

The new trailer introduced Sakonji Urokodaki, voiced by legendary seiyuu Hōchū Ōtsuka (Jiraiya in Naruto, Yazan in Gundam, Xigbar in Kingdom Hearts, Rutger in Trails Series). He is the main cultivator of the Water Breathing style, and the master of our protagonist Tanjiro Kamado. The trailer featured several of his attacks and combos using Water Breathing, and concluded with his ultimate move.

Will we get more playable characters? How about the Mugen Train arc?

CyberConnect2 mentioned the game has a Story Mode retracing the manga, but we don’t know yet how far this goes. And whether all of the manga will be covered or not.

With that said, all of the press releases so far specified that the new characters introduced are playable in Versus Mode. Hinting that only Tanjiro is playable in Story Mode. If only Tanjiro’s point of view and fights are shown, this could adapt the “whole” manga. At least all the big moments, including Mugen Train.

It’s very likely we’ll be seeing more characters soon. Maybe with a Mugen Train arc focused trailer to ride on the movie’s hype. CyberConnect2 already teased more characters as well.

The game’s development is going smoothly. The game was not announced in the west yet but it’ll definitely come over. A Demon Slayer Mobile game is also in development.
