During the Twitch live coverage from E3 2018, Dead or Alive 6 Producer and Director Yohei Shimbori provided more interesting information about the game and a clarification.

Shimbori-san clarified that despite the look for Kasumi that has been showcased in the earlier assets, fans should not be worried, because her iconic blue kunoichi outfit will still be in the game.

Interestingly the host asked a bit aggressively about the shift away from the sexy looks of the series. Shinbori-san provided a clarification on the issue through a translator.

“We got a lot of comments about the jiggle and the bounce, but to be honest with you, that’s something that is part of the genes of the DOA series, so it’s not gone entirely. We’ve taken an approach where it’s more realistic and natural. We just wanted to clarify that. It’s not how people think of it. It’s just toned down.”

Community Manager “Master” added that “it’s realistic and falls within the fighting sense and how the costumes are set together.”

Shimbori-san continued by mentioning that the core concept of the game is “intense fighting entertainment” so there are a lot of new elements into the game like sweating, getting wounded, getting dirty, facial distortion. To that end, both the background and the characters have to look more natural, which is why there won’t be exaggerated expressions and presentation.

Master added that during gameplay even clothes will show damage and scratches.

So there you have it, straight from the lion mouth. If you were worried about Dead or Alive 6 abandoning fanservice completely, that’s not the case.

Dead or Alive 6 has been revealed last week and is coming in early 2019. We also got the first details and plenty of 4K screenshots for your viewing pleasure, alongside some really neat gameplay.

We also learned just yesterday that the new girls from Dead or Alive Xtreme: Venus Vacation won’t appear in this game and a Nintendo Switch port isn’t being considered.
