What Are Status Effects In DBD?

There are several status effects in Dead By Daylight that affects the survivors in a negative way. They are designed in a way that gives certain advantages to the killer by making things tricky for survivors.

But if you understand what each status effect can do, you’ll always have a better chance of surviving the night.

Oblivious Status Effect Explained

The Oblivious status effect in DBD makes survivors unable to hear the killers Terror Radius — which is used to detect the presence of killers when they are getting closer while you are looking away.

This means survivors will not hear a heartbeat inside the Terror Radius. It also disables the effects of Terror Radius-related perks.

The following unlockables can inflict the Oblivious in DBD:

  • Add-ons:
    • Drop of Perfume (Blood Bond)
    • NE-a Parasite (T-Virus)
    • Lost Memories Book (Rites of Judgement)
  • Perks:
    • Deathbound
    • Hex: Retribution
    • Hysteria
    • Nemesis
  • Powers:
    • Blood Bond
    • Dream Demon
    • Of the Abyss

Incapacitated Status Effect Explained

The Incapacitated Status Effect has a negative impact on the Survivor’s ability to interact with certain Props. These Props are basically elements that are found across the Maps in Dead By Daylight and can be interacted with.

On being hit by the Incapacitated in DBD, players won’t be able to do the following actions:

  • Repair Generators
  • Sabotage Hooks
  • Use Items
  • Interact with other Survivors
  • Cleanse Totems

The following Unlockables inflict the Incapacitated in DBD:

  • Add-ons:
    • Weighted Head (Hunting Hatchets)
  • Perks:
    • Eruption
  • Powers:
    • Blood Bond
