Can you believe it is almost a year since Days Gone officially launched? The survival horror video game developed by SIE Bend Studio and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment for the PlayStation 4 released on 26 April 2019 and since then, the game has crafted quite the following. In appreciation for Days Gone, the tight-knit community is coming together to celebrate in a week-long event for the game’s anniversary by showcasing a host of in-game photos, streams, videos, fan-art, discussions and anything else Days Gone related.

If you haven’t yet experienced the formidable world of Days Gone then you’re in for one hell of a ride. The game is set in an open-world post-apocalyptic area of Oregon two years after the start of a global pandemic where former outlaw-turned-drifter Deacon St. John discovers the possibility of his wife Sarah still being alive, which leads Deacon on a quest to find her but the broken road isn’t made easy by hordes of Freakers, Marauders, Anarchists and Rippers to name a few. Although the game was originally meant to release in 2018 and underwent several delays, it finally saw the light of day last April and in the year since its launch, fans of the game have come together to share their in-game experiences and love for the title.

Kevin McAllister or vikingdad278 as he is better known on Twitter lives for Days Gone. Not only does he spend a vast amount of time in Days Gone recording and producing mass quantities of amazing in-game photographs, but he also runs the Days Gone Blog where he showcases interviews from the people behind the game at Bend Studio, topics about Days Gone, short-stories, photo gallery of in-game photos and more. In the run-up to the game’s first anniversary next Sunday, Kevin has organized a week-long event that spans right across the entire Days Gone community to show gratitude to the developers at Bend Studios and also as a way for fans of the game to get in on the action also. Throughout the week which starts today and ends on April 26, there will be special guest interviews, huge giveaways, fan-appreciation videos, streams, a photo mode contest with prizes, fan articles, and much more incredible content. For a full list of everything that’s going on for Days Gone Week, you can check out the event schedule right here.

Many members of the Days Gone development team have already taken strongly to the week-long array of events with much appreciation by placing #DaysGoneWeek after their Twitter names showing just how involved this incredible gaming studio is in their fans. If you too would like to get in on this fun Days Gone appreciation experience and maybe bag yourself some awesome prices, you can reshare in-game pictures or videos by using the hashtag #DaysGoneWeek on Twitter. In these trying times, I think this is an incredible act of community spirit that will not only make for a much-needed and fun distraction but also as a way to bring people together using the power of a video game.

Days Gone is available now exclusively on PS4. If you have yet to experience the game for yourself just yet, you can pick it up right now over on Amazon or if you wanted a taste of what you’re in store for, you can read our review of the title right here.
