Today Arc System Works released the first direct-feed screenshots of the upcoming mystery investigation game Daedalus: The Awakening of Golden Jazz.

For those unfamiliar with the game, it’s a prequel of the Tantei Jinguji Saburo series, known in the west as Jake Hunter Detective Story. To be precise, it’s set in New York and the protagonist is Saburo Jinguji/Jake Hunter’s grandfather, Keisuke Jinguji.

We get to see quite a few interesting systems that are included in the game, and that were previously introduced on Famitsu.

You can change your “stance” when interrogating a character. Using the right stance will net you better info. You can visualize Keisuke Jinguji’s “tree of thought” by piecing the information you gather together and then harvesting metaphorical fruits to get closer to the solution of a mystery.

You can investigate a crime scene in 360 degrees. Some of the elements you could find can add a branch to the tree of thought, and depending on your stance the things you see can also change.

You can enjoy the screenshots below. The game will launch in Japan in 2018 for PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
